Yes, definitely. Yoga is a health practice suitable for both genders.

The word “ha” means sun and “tha” means moon. Hatha Yoga brings balance between the Yin (moon) and Yang (sun) qualities in you. Hatha Yoga is one of the classical school of yoga which aims to achieve self realisation through physical body. Practices include yoga poses, breathing techniques, cleansing techniques and meditation.

Vinyasa Yoga is a modern style of yoga and categorised under Hatha Yoga. The main difference between classical Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga is that, Vinyasa Yoga is a creative form of yoga where poses are linked together through the breath in a flowing sequence.

Yoga Flow is similar to Vinyasa Yoga but usually it is at a lesser intense.

Flexibility is not a pre-requisite of yoga practice. In fact, it is one of the good results of yoga which will come with time. Remember, “Practice… and all will come”.

It is recommended not to eat a full meal 2-3 hours before yoga. If you must eat before exercise, take only light meal (cereal, milk, few biscuits or light salads) and allow 30 minutes to 1 hour interval before class starts.

Non-skid yoga mat, water bottle, towel and most important, bring a good attitude.

Light, stretchy and comfortable clothes which will not restrict your movement.
